Jaime Brown is a former Deputy Chief and a proud member of the Los Angeles Fire Department with thirty-one years of Fire and Emergency Paramedicine Service. She has experience in management and strategic planning, including tactical and strategic level operational leadership in emergency and administrative environments to include multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional planning and response.
Prior to promoting to Deputy Chief and overseeing the Training and Support Bureau for the LAFD, Jaime Brown was assigned as the Marine Operations Commander at the Port of Los Angeles and was responsible for emergency incident collaboration with Port Police, Long Beach Fire, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Sherrif’s Department and Los Angeles Police Marine Program.
Jaime held the ranks in the Los Angeles Fire Department of Deputy Chief, Marine Operations Commander, Battalion Chief, Captain II, Captain I, Emergency Incident Technician, Engineer, Paramedic and Firefighter.
Jaime has been involved in numerous special assignments while on the Fire Department such as Department Duty Officer for the Department Operations Center in large scale emergencies, Chair for FIRESCOPE Maritime Specialist Group for the State of California, Office of State Fire Marshal, State Fire Training Division Steering Committee Lead and Certified State Fire Training Instructor, Lead Project Developer for the Los Angeles Fire Department Marine Operations, Operations Branch Director for Incident Management Team one in the Emergency Management Department for the City of LA, California Office of Emergency Services South Branch Marine Coordinator, and the only female Recruit Training Officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Jaime’s experience implementing the Incident Command System (ICS) at large scale emergencies and working under mutual aid agreements at all levels of being a Chief Officer separates her from most. Her experience in leadership roles and dynamic demanding environments define her career and personality.
Jaime holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also played four years on a full ride athletic basketball scholarship for the university from ’84-’89. Her years at U.C.L.A. molded her into a leader that excelled both in college and professionally for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Jaime is currently starting her own business, Flash Point Solutions, to deliver insightful guidance on how to best prepare your residence or business for unplanned emergencies.
